WRIGHT COUNTY CHILDREN’S HOME BENEFIT  HUNTER/JUMPER SHOW

September 2011 –Class Descriptions

Jumper Classes

Classes 1-2.   Schooling Jumper - Open;2’-2’3”.  Clean rounds return for a timed jump-off in first class.

One timed round in second class.

Classes 3-4.  Training Jumper - Open;fences 2’6”-2’9”. Clean rounds return for a timed jump-off in first class.

One timed round in second class.

Classes 5-6.  Open Jumper;fences 3’-3’3”.  Open.  Clean rounds return for a timed jump-off in first class.

One timed round in second class.

Hunter Classes

Class 7.  Warm up Hunter: Ride anytime during the Hunter divisions at the given heights for the various divisions.  Will not reset jump heights until advancing to the next division.  (Classes 8-23).

Classes 8-10.  Non-Pro Hunter: Children/Adult Amateur. Fences 2’3”-2’6”.

Classes 11-12.  Intermediate Equitation:  Children/Adult Amateur.  Fences 2’3”to 2’6”.  If competing in

this division,a rider cannot jump 3’ or higher at the same show.

Classes 13-15.  Low Working Hunter: Open.  Fences 2’6” – 2’9”

Classes 16-17.  Children’s/AA Equitation:  Fences 2’9” to 3’. (If there are less than 2 entries,Children’s/AA Equitation

and Children’s/AA Hunter will be combined.  Classes pinned combined and year end points awarded as pinned per                                 the respective division of entry.

Classes 18-20.  Children’s/AA Hunter:  Fences 2’9” to 3’.

Classes 21-23.  Working Hunter: Open.  Fences 3’ to 3’3”.

Class 24.  Leadline:  Open to riders age 7 and under.  Leadline required.  Walk only.  Horses in this class

need not be registered with SMHJA.  SMHJA dress code not enforced,but ASTM approved headgear  and footwear with heel is mandatory.  Riders cannot show in any other classes at the same show.

Class 25-26.  Hunter Hack: Open. Manners and suitability for pleasure riding to be emphasized.  May be asked to show on the loose rein,lengthen stride,hand gallop,or collect.  Over fences class has the addition of two fences (not to exceed 2’) and a patterned course (which will be posted) that may include halt,trot,and back.

Classes 27-28.  Ground Pole Equitation: Children/Adult Amateur.  Canter not required.  Obstacles consist of     four (4) poles on the ground,to be ridden once around the arena.  Trot is not required in over-poles      Class 27.  Walk and trot are required in flat Class 28.  If competing in this division,rider cannot jump        higher than crossbars at the same show.

Class 29.  Warm up Cross Bar: Ride at anytime during the Crossbar divisions (Class 30-36).

Classes 30-32.  Children’s Cross Bar Hunter:Canter not required.  Walk/trot only in flat class.  If          competing in this division,horse/rider combination cannot jump higher than 2’3” at the same show.

Classes 33-35.  Adult Amateur Cross Bar Hunter:.  Canter not required.   If competing in this division,horse/rider combination cannot jump higher than 2’3” at the same show.

Classes 36-37 Cross Bar Equitation: Children/Adult Amateur.  Canter not required.  Walk/trot only in flat class.  If competing in this division,horse/rider combination cannot jump higher than 2’3” at the same show.

Classes 38-40.  Training Hunter: Open.  Fences 2’-2’3”.  If competing in this division,a horse/rider

combination cannot jump 2’9” or higher at the same show.

Classes 41-42.  Beginner Equitation:  Children/Adult Amateur.  Fences 2’to 2’3”.  If competing in this division,

a rider cannot jump 2’6” or higher at the same show

Classes 43-45.  Pony Hunter:Riders age 17 and under. Ponies 14.2 hands and under. Fences 2’-2’3”

Adult Amateur - Riders 18 years old and over on December 1 of the previous year and who do not engage in activities that would classify him/her as a professional per the current USEF Rule Book

Children – Riders 17 years old and younger on December 1 of the previous year.
